The red melon sword plant has strong stems and red and green round leaves - melon shaped. Native to streams and shallows in Brazil, the plant has the same temperament as Amazon sword, hardy but requires good lighting and some CO2 to really grow. Even so, the red melon sword is one of the few aquarium plants that tolerate high Ph and low levels of light. Under these conditions it will look pretty, it just wont grow.
