So rare that a hybrid of this amazing scat is now available to the pet trade to help keep the natural species undisturbed. The hybrid, crossed with a green scat, preserves all the characteristics of the natural tiger scat but features a leopard pattern as opposed to the strip pattern.Ā
The hybrid tiger scat is tough - these fish thrive in 100 percent fresh water and tolerate a wide pH range. They are very active and need room to swim and grow. Speaking of growing these guys will grow to 20 inches and eat plants, community flake food, lettuce from the kitchen, and veggie cichlid pellets. Tiger scats are big and active but they are VERY PEACEFUL to other fish - they do not harm even the smallest peaceful species. However they will bump each other constantly as they compete for any veggies in the fish tank.
